Norfolk Island is located in the South Pacific, 1600 kilometres east of Australia and 600 kilometres north-west of New Zealand. It is accessible from Brisbane (2¼ hrs), Sydney (2½ hrs) and Auckland (1¾ hrs) on a comfortable jet flight.
Although this secluded hideaway is overseas with departures from the international airports, Norfolk Island is an external territory of Australia and uses Australian currency. It has its own government, language, and has a local Norfolk Island GST.
